Call To Duty

The Call To Duty Back To School Leadership Conference is here!

It takes place on Saturday, August 28th at Little Rock’s First Baptist Church. The cost is $20, which is so worth it! This includes great teaching, explosive breakouts (for students and youth workers), and a concert featuring the Charlie Hall Band at night!

Bring $20 (if you haven’t already paid) to the ten10 building  at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 28th. We’ll head there together. Make sure to bring money for dinner and any cd’s/tshirts/snacks you might want. You can expect to be back at the ten10 building around 9:30 pm.

Getting Plugged Into A Cell Group

The school year has started and cell groups have been kicked off!  If you’re not sure what group to plug into, we’ve included a list here on the site for you to check out.

Here’s the thing, though. We’re not going to post directions on the site. You need to email Mark (mcox@isbcbryant.org) to get them. We’re not trying to invite your creepy uncle to a cell group!
Pick one of the following groups, and email Mark to get directions to it. If you already know the cell group leader or co-leader, just ask them how to get to their cell group. They’d be happy to let you know!

Mark Burbank & Dylan Masters’ Cell Group

Scott Workman & Jacob Sprout’s Cell Group

Michael Wollard & Taylor Snapp’s Cell Group

Sydney Cowell & Ashlee Caton’s Cell Group

Katelyn Fox & Rachael Belew’s Cell Group

Emily Pilcher & Elaine Sides’ Cell Group

Don’t forget: In order to join one of these groups, you need to find out where they’re meeting. You can either ask them directly or email Mark at mcox@isbcbryant.org to get directions. Cell Groups meet from 6:00-7:30 pm on Wednesday nights. See you there!

The Genesis of Cell Groups Part 1

If you weren’t able to be around for the explanation of our new strategy, cell groups, I decided I’d post it for you to check out. I know it’s long, but it’s totally worth it to give you the original idea of cell groups and why we’re doing it.

Main Points Last Night – August 11, 2010

Last night, we dug into some major portions of Jesus’ teachings. We went over a lot of Scripture, and just simply took a look at what Jesus has to say about life.

We talked a lot about living a radical life for Jesus, because that’s what He’s been calling us to all along. We also made reference to David Platt’s Book, “Radical.” Check that out!

We had to hit the points fairly quickly, so here they are again so you can look a little more in-depth at these radical claims. Here are the passages from last night.

1. Murder worry. Matthew 6:25-34

2. Trust Jesus with everything. Matthew 7:7-11

3. Take the path less traveled. Matthew 7:13-14

4. Prove it. Matthew 7:15-19

5. Be a doer. Matthew 7:24-27

6. Change your mind about people. Matthew 9:9-13

7. It’s all about Jesus! Matthew 10:24-42

Call To Duty Student Conference

We have lots going on to kick this school year off. One of the most exciting things we’re attending is the Call To Duty Back To School Leadership Conference.

It takes place on Saturday, August 28th at Little Rock’s First Baptist Church. The cost is $20, which is so worth it!

There’s going to be great teaching, explosive breakouts (for students and youth workers), and a concert featuring the Charlie Hall Band at night!

This is going to be such a great opportunity to get geared up for the school year, and I want to see our students make a big showing!

If you want to sign up, let Mark know ASAP, and have your $20 turned in by Sunday, August 22. The easiest way to bring your money is to bring it to Sunday Morning Small Groups on August 8, 15, or 22.

For more information, you can contact Mark Cox at mcox@isbcbryant.org or send me a message on facebook. We’re pumped for this fall!
